They don't hibernate like moles and other critters. In fact, they like snow cover as they can dig and tunnel around while hiding from hawks. When the snow cover if thin, you can see their trails. This is what I think causes the holes. I can only guess what causes the landmines (I think there is a dog involved)! - DadUncle Tractorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01681275001851959925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2272682635090398943.post-25408594479406385052011-02-19T18:40:39.524-05:002011-02-19T18:40:39.524-05:00Nice! I may have to hang an extra feeder or suet out later- I really love those bluebirds!! :) <br />I think spring is definitely on its way, while cleaning all the 'landmines' that have reappeared, I saw multiple snake holes (and tracks) in the yard, and an earthworm!~ Reganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12183630069063636603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2272682635090398943.post-37360338302822898622011-02-17T22:37:58.720-05:002011-02-17T22:37:58.720-05:00Your ride sounds breathtaking!
